Testing out Cam with Great Dane
Tonight, I experimented a little with the camera, trying to play around in different lighting conditions. One of the most frustrating things I found as a photojournalist was trying to capture a photo when the lighting was less-than-ideal. Which, uhm, is ALL THE TIME unless you’re a studio photographer. There are certain things you can do to make it better, but as far as I know, there’s no magic fix for low light.
Using our living room (with no overhead light and a little bit of end-of-the-day light coming through the window), I attacked the Great Dane with the camera. She wasn’t such a fan, but, whatever, I managed to get some decent photos.

Minimal editing on this, using the built-in flash on the Canon Xti. Didn’t think the color turned too far off.
Using an old vintage filter in Adobe Lightroom 2.
She’s such an old lady
I love her. And she only growled at me twice.
